The Port of Lopez recently acquired approximately six acres of property on the west side of the Airport. The property is undeveloped and heavily wooded. The owners of the property offered the parcel to the Port at below assessed value. The property will provide an additional buffer to residential development close to the Airport. The parcel may also facilitate some tree removal as the Port studies a possible instrument approach. The transaction was completed on September 24th, 2019.
